Planning the lift

Radius changes everything

A crane's safe capacity depends on how far the load is from the crane. That's why every lift is planned before the crane arrives.

  1. 01

    Set up

Outriggers fully extended and the crane levelled on pads sized to the ground conditions.

  2. 02

    Close in, heavy lifts

A crane is strongest with its load close in. Short radius means more capacity.

  3. 03

    Reach out

As the boom extends and lowers, radius grows and safe capacity drops. The lift plan sets the limits.

  4. 04

    Height & clearance

Hook height and clearance over structures are confirmed before mobilisation.

The range

Cranes for every kind of site

We'll recommend the crane that suits your load, radius and site, and send through specifications, a lift plan and pricing.

FAQ

Common questions

Something else you need to know? Call 1800 WE LIFT or email the team.

Do your cranes come with an operator?

Yes. ELS cranes are supplied with a qualified operator, and with dogmen or riggers where the lift calls for them.

What do you need to know to quote a crane lift?

The weight and size of the load, where it's picked up and where it's going, the site address and access, ground conditions, anything overhead such as power lines or trees, and your preferred dates. Our enquiry emails list all of this for you.

Do you do site inspections?

Yes, site inspections are free. For tight sites, heavy loads or lifts near roads and power, we'll visit before we quote.

Can you help with traffic control and permits?

Lifts on or beside roads often need traffic management and approvals. We can help you plan for both. See Traffic & Safety.

Can I hire equipment or book a lift outside business hours?

Our office is open 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Deliveries, collections and work outside those hours can be scheduled by arrangement. Just let us know when you enquire.

Where do you service?

We're based in Sandgate on Brisbane's northside and work across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Moreton Bay, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Ipswich, Logan and Redlands. For jobs further afield, call us to discuss.
